Strategic Plan
2006-2011

The Moya Centre is run by a Trust consisting of seven Trustee members: Peter Thorne, Antonia McLeod, Anthony Marshak, Nosipho Storer, Rosemary Roques and Michael & Jane Cox. The MCHC started informally in June, 1999.

We are entirely funded by donations and do not charge for any of our services. We aim to empower and encourage communities to use good health practices, engender a collective spirit of responsibility, teach life skills including HIV/AIDS related knowledge, assist communities in the care of parentless children and provide support and safety for those in need.
.

Our philosophy is one of supporting and working through traditional social structures for a sustainable improvement in quality of life. We prioritise the sharing of knowledge, skills and experiences between communities and ourselves with a continual emphasis on community responsibility and action generally focusing on those most acutely affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The incredible growth and development of Moya has led us along a path that has been unexpected and rewarding.
When we started (the starting point), our focus was on a small community centre and has subsequently evolved into a much bigger entity with enormous vision.

Map of Moya Model

Moya Centre - the place - runs a pre-school for parentless children and holds an afternoon club for the community children which facilitates increased literacy and provides help with homework. We also provide a public facility for health care twice a week.

Moya Centre - the entity - oversees the development of educational & gardening programs and support for communities and child headed households.
