2007 EFA Workshops held at Moya Centre

After school support for the community children - focusing on OVCs (but opening the door to all in the community) in order to facilitate increased literacy and also providing help with homework. This contact enables us to identify and help reslove problems at school and at home for these kids.

Workshops for teachers, from our 3 EFA schools (education for all), giving them skills in psycho-social support for all the orphans and vulnerable children at their schools.
(This was facilitated by our EFA team members, being Ms. T. Maphalala, the education officer from UNICEF, and two representatives from the Regional Education Office, Ministry of Education in Manzini, Ms.J. Fakudze and Ms.L. Simelane and Jane Cox from Moya Centre.)

Workshops for school committee members
(who act as board of directors for each of these 3 EFA schools). These workshops serve to build up their financial skills for the efficient running of the schools.

Workshops for OVCs to build up emotional resilience through teaching team building and life skills.

Workshops for guardians to assist with good parenting skills and stress coping techniques.

Workshops for Grade 7s to motivate them, teach appropriate life skills and study skills to ensure readiness for end of year national examination.

Workshops for Teachers on different forms of abuse, to sensitize them.

Workshops (x3) for Teachers on literacy skills – the CLE programme and phonics – to enhance teaching skills of Grades 1-3 teachers

Workshops for Head Teachers from our 15 high schools (where our students have been tracked for their high school education)  building up financial skills for good management practice within schools.

Workshops for Head Teachers/Counsellors HIV/Aids overview and how it impacts on our high schools.
